The Kingdom is Like a Shrewd Manager

What if one of Jesus' most confusing parables is actually a blueprint for economic justice?
Join us for this week's message in our sermon series, Hear Then the Parable. This Sunday, we are diving deep into Luke 16:1-8 and the controversial story of "The Shrewd Manager."
At first glance, this story feels backward. Why does a wealthy master praise a dishonest employee who just cut everyone’s debts? By pulling back the curtain on the predatory economic systems of the ancient Mediterranean world, we discover that this "rogue" manager wasn't cheating a good boss—he was stripping away illegal, crushing interest to relieve the burdens of peasant farmers.
Jesus uses this provocative story to challenge us all to look at our own resources and ask: Is your money an idol that you hoard out of fear, or is it a tool you use to lift up your neighbors?
