A little about the series . . ."This Is Us"
I must admit that I am a fan of the TV Show "This is Us." Now it is not a particularly Christian show. In fact, the actors in it are not mean or evil, but they use swear words and mess up their lives, just like you or I would. A friend recently confessed to me that the show was exactly like his own family. It seems that everybody who becomes a fan of "This Is Us" says the same thing: "THIS IS US". They literally see themselves in the stories. Well there are also a lot of great Bible stories about us as well, so in the spirit of the show, we will explore some of those stories of betrayal, anger, selfishness... and just plain old sin this winter. Romans 3:23 says "... all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" and all the people said, "THIS IS US"! |
